Ahhhh, January, the month when every family scoured the internet for the “Best time to go to Disney”…

But not you! (not anymore, at least). You signed up for Traveling Parents.

We are the little voice in your ear that says, “You can handle a 9-hour flight across the Atlantic!” And our goal is to help you.

So here’s to 2023 and all the traveling parents out there!

Tips: Airbnb makes it easier to explore

We get it. Planning a vacation can be more stressful than actually going through the airport with a hangry two-year-old. It’s no wonder parents settle for a Disney adventure. It’s easy… but no fear, Airbnb is here! Airbnb is already known as a great resource for family-friendly accommodation. Recently, they updated their website to make it easier than ever to find the perfect place to go as a family. Here’s what we suggest:

• Rome, Italy — Discover Rome by Golf Cart: The best way to see Rome is in a golf cart. That's right: you can drive through the city streets on an electric golf car with your local guide, passing through charming squares and monuments like the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and many more places in between. Stop to take photos of some of the city's most famous landmarks along the way!

• Praia da Vitória, Portugal — Dairy Farm Cow Milking Experience: Become a farmer for a few hours. Visit a farm in the production of organic milk in the Azores. You'll have the opportunity to milk one of the happy cows and taste the milk accompanied by traditional cookies. If that’s not your style, you can pet the cows, take pictures, and walk through the pastures.

• El Limón, Dominican Republic — Visit Salto del Limón Natural Park: If you're tired of doing the same old touristy things and want a more authentic experience, visit Cascada del Limón with a local guide. The views will be spectacular—and you'll also have an opportunity to see a beautiful panoramic view of the waterfall.

Trips: Spring Break 2023 Destinations

Orlando, Florida

Okay, you win. We included the land of Mickey Mouse and Superheroes, but there is more to Orlando than meets the eye. With tons of outdoor activities in and around Orlando, you can still enjoy the princess castle AND get some more natural experiences.

Puerto Rico

Still the US (no passport needed!) but a culture of its own. Puerto Rico is just a short flight from the East Coast, this tropical paradise has tons of hidden gems for the adventurous. From bioluminescent bays to incredible views and crystal-clear beaches. There is an adventure for everyone.

San Diego, California

Not enough time to go on a full blown-safari? San Diego is the closest thing for a multi-day adventure for those little ones that love animals.
